4 Months!!!

Wyatt had his 4 month check up on Friday. He is 16lbs. 8oz. and 26-1/2" length. His "melon head" is 17" inches. Doctor said he looks great and is right on track with developements. He got a round of shots and oral vaccine. He did so much better with his shots and loved the oral vaccine. Of course, this child loves everything. We started him on rice cereal over the weekend and he is sleeping through the night, YAY!!!! We just need to move him upstairs which we plan on to very soon, we wanted him to get over this cough before then. We had his lungs checked out again because he is still occasionally coughing but the doctor said they sound great and it is just from the pollen. I am sure Wyatt will have allergies like his daddy. This pollen has never bothered me until this year. After his appointment we had breakfast at Cracker Barrel and then headed to the zoo. My parents are in town as well so it was so great to spend time with them and Wyatt. testing out the water...he cried each time he got wet. It was cold!!
Playing in his jumparoo!!!
Love this smile!!

Lately

I have been slacking so badly in the blog world, so sorry! I tell you it is hard to adjust being a mother, working fulltime, and keeping the house clean. You would think that after 2 months of back to work I have adjusted. There are mornings when I am getting ready for work and playing with Wyatt, and wish I could stay home with him. But, I also love my job and providing for my family (well some) most of the money goes towards Wyatt. Maybe I should get a part-time job to where I can spend more time with Wyatt and work but not longer hours? But anyway, I pray that each day that God will bless me with those "first moments" that Wyatt does and I know he will. I tell the teachers to not tell me most things so they dont. I absoutely love his teachers, they are so sweet. But anyway, we have a BIG weekend ahead of us. My parents are going to be here on Thursday through the weekend. Friday is Wyatt's 4 month check up, we are going to the zoo and celebrating my dads birthday that night. Saturday we are packing up the car and heading to Macon to visit with my brother and his family. They just got married and we are having a little reception that day. Sunday, Ryan and my dad are going to Talladega. I honestly wish I was going in a way but I much rather spend time with Wyatt and my mom then go to a race and deal with a bunch of drunk people. I think those days are over. Plus, who can pass up shopping!! I will have lots of updates on Wyatt to post and pictures. I will try to be more active on posting things on the blog. I know alot of people that read this are family from out of town trying to stay updated so I will do my best!

Visit to the Doc

Saturday morning Ryan and I got Wyatt a "sick" appointment to have him checked out. He has been having a dry cough for a couple of weeks now and Friday it turned into a more wet cough. It had us very concerned at the time and could not wait until Monday to have him go in. He did not have a temperature and was eating great. He was still smiling and playing as well. Once we saw the doctor he said Wyatt's lungs sounded great. He was concerned that it was something that just happened over night, so he had us get an x-ray. Thank goodness that they have a x-ray lab and lab there in the office. His lungs showed no sign of being sick or anything wrong. He said the only other cause would be acid relux which we were already aware he had when he was in the NICU after being born with an infection. We were told Wyatt had stage 3 acid reflux but this child has only spit up no more than 6 times and he is almost 4 months old. He has what they call "silent relux". The doctor perscribed him with Zantac and he is on his third dose this morning, he is doing alot better but still occasionally coughing like he is sick. Hopefully this is the problem and we can get him all better!!! While we were there, we also had his eye checked out. His left eye has always had tears coming out (while not even crying) and has had discharge at times since we was born. We have been keeping an eye on it and his tear duct is still clogged. We are applying warm washcloths to it and rubbing in between the inside of his eye and nose. The doctor said it will unclog at 3-4 months in most babies, some may take up to 6 months. If not, then we will have to go to a specialist and have a small surgery procedure to unclog it. The doctors around Birmingham will not perform the procedure until the baby is 8 months so hopefully we will not have to go that far and it will unclog on its own. If anyone has any tips please let us know!!! I do not want to think about him going in for this procedure. We already had to go through 2 spinal taps when he was in the NICU and that was bad/hard enough for us. Keep our little guy in your thoughts and prayers.
