Today we visited our little guy and he continues to do well. He is eating well, he has gained the few ounces that he lost and is pretty much back to his birth weight. His blood work is coming back normal each time they take it, so the antibiotics are working. The doctor believes he got a bacteria infection during labor. They want him to get the full 7 days of antibotics even if it has cleared after 3-4 days. He has a little bit of jaundice but nothing that is keeping him there in NICU. It is slowly going down each day. The nurses love him and say he is an easy baby, lets hope that continues when we take him home. We can not wait to bring him home!! Please continue to pray for our little guy. We appreciate all the thoughts and prayers that we have recieved throughout the past week. They have been heard and we are blessed to have such wonderul family and friends. Take care!!

Merry Christmas!!!
Merry Christmas to all our friends and family. Hope everyone has a wonderful day! This morning Ryan and I started off our morning with a Christmas breakfast and then got ready to head down to wish our son a Merry Christmas. Wyatt is doing great, he was moved to a crib yesterday and held his temperature up through the night. His blood work has been coming back great each time. They did a second spinal tap yesterday and it came back negative. The doctor was concerned that since I was given an antibotic during labor for a fever that it may have been transported to Wyatt and that can possible give the test a negative result. But, they did a second one and it is fine. We talked with the doctor today and said Wyatt is doing well and we will look forward to bringing him home on Tuesday. Please continue to pray that he stays strong and healthy. I have attached a few pictures from this morning. Have a great day!!!

Update on Wyatt
Most of you know that yesterday mid morning we found out that Wyatt needed to be transfered to the NICU for some blood work and observation. The night he was born I ran a fever of 101.7 and was put on antibotics during labor. Wyatt ran a little fever as well. We kept him in the nursery that night and they noticed he could not keep his temperature and it was borderline at 97.4 to 97.8, they want it to be no lower than 97.6. Our pediatrician decided to have some blood work taken and it came back elevated in his white blood cells. He was then transfered to the NICU for more blood work and a spinal tap. He has been on antibotics since then. He has kept his temperature good. All his other vital signs are perfect according to the nurses. They said that durning labor he has caught an infection and will need to be treated for a minumium of 3 days but he could be up here for 7 more days.
I know our little guy is going to be okay but it hurts so badly inside for Ryan and I. I now know what a mother's love is for her own child and I can see the same thing in Ryan. It hurts to see him like this and know that you can not do anything to help your child but to let the doctors do their job. You can tell he knows when we are there to visit him and it is so amazing to see how much just talking to him and rubbing his back or head and he knows we are there through this for him and love him so much. We just want our son to get well so we can take him home to love on him.
We should find out some more news this morning. We are about to head down to NICU to visit him. We are being discharged today but they are going to wait as long as they can. Please keep us all in your prayers and thank you everyone for the calls and well wishes. I am sorry if I have been short or did not return calls, it has been crazy and hard for me at times to try to talk to anyone.

Our Sweet Wyatt is Here!!!!
WOW!!! We are so blessed and overwhelmed with this gift from God. Words can not explain the love I have for this child. We welcomed Wyatt into the world on Monday, December 21st,2009 at 7:23p.m. He measured 22.5" long and 7 pounds 2 oz. The day started with some consistent contractions early Monday morning at 1:45a.m. I woke Ryan up to give him a heads up and we sat around the house and had breakfast before calling the doctor at about 4:30a.m. He said to come in and they got us hooked up to a monitor. I was only 1.5CM and 70% effaced. The contractions were about 5-8 minutes apart at that time. My doctor came in to visit before a C-Section and said to go ahead and stay here to be induced. We got started and did not break my water until around 8a.m. About each hour I was dilating a CM, which was great progress. I quickly went from 6CM to 9CM and then it was pushing from there. I pushed for 2 hours and my doctor decided to have Wyatt delivered with forceps or have an immediate C-Section. Wyatt was "sunny side up" and would NOT move at all. I did not want a C-Section at all unless I had too. I have been told from the five nurses in my room that Dr. Johnson is the best doctor to have deliver your baby with forceps. I trust my doctor with anything beacuse he has two daughters my age and I know he would not but me in a situation that would jeopardize me or Wyatt.
Wyatt is doing great!! Ryan is an awesome father, he is so hands on and I am very suprised the way this little guy has changed both of us!!!

Very Soon......
Hello Everyone!!! Ryan and I had our 39 week appointment this morning and we finally got some news. I have progressed some, I am 1CM dilated and 50% effaced. My doctor would like me to progress a little bit more before he induces me. So, we have set a tentative date of Dec. 22nd to be induced. Two days after my due date!! I have another appointment on Monday to see how much or if we have progressed further.
We are all ready to go to the hospital!! Wyatt can come at anytime. I dont think we will make it that far but you never know. I have definitely been feeling a change in things since I left the doctor this morning. Hopefully the next time I blog I will have some pictures to share of our little boy.
Take care and please keep us in your prayers!!! Oh, doctor thinks Wyatt is measuring about 7.5 pounds as of now so hopefully he wont be bigger than that. I was expecting a 9 pounder, so I am a little relieved.

Waiting.......
Yesterday afternoon I had my 37 week appointment and there is still nothing going on. I am not even effaced at all! I am starting to think that maybe Wyatt does want to stay warm and cozy for as long as he can. I know I still have 3 weeks left and my doctor is trying to make me realize that but I just want there to be something. He will not schedule me to be induced until there is something going on. He mentioned that about 10% of first time moms go over their due date so that did not help at all yesterday. I wanted to cry! He does not want to me to be induced if there is nothing going on until after my due date which is the 20th. I just want my baby boy here for Christmas more than anything. If that means we have Christmas on the 27th, then we will have our Christmas then. But, we dont want to forget the real meaning of Christmas and that is the birth of our savior Jesus Christ. God has blessed us with this baby and we know he has a plan already planned for his birth.
So, Ryan and I are just waiting to see what happens. In the meantime I am still going to keep my bags packed and ready to go, cause I have heard of people going into labor at anytime even after being told the same thing. We would love to have our baby boy here as quickly as possible but we want more to have a healthy baby that is ready to come when he wants to, plus I do have three more weeks! I go back to the doctor next week and will keep you all updated.

Thanksgiving Weekend!!!
Well, tomorrow I will be officially 37 weeks pregnant. We are so ready to meet our little boy!! Thanksgiving weekend has been fun so far, we went over to Ryan's parents house for a delicious dinner and went home to get much needed rest for Black Friday shopping followed by rushing back to watch the Iron Bowl. We are spending the rest of the weekend getting a few things done around the house and cleaning. I want to have everything done for when Wyatt arrives and my mom will be here in two weeks. My dad and grandma are planning on driving so they will come the following weekend.
This past weekend I was able to get the Christmas tree set up and have an updated picture of my ever growing belly. These days it feels like Wyatt has no room to move. I went to the doctor last week and there was nothing new going on. I go back this Monday and hoping that he tells me something this time around. I will keep you all updated. Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and a long rested weekend.

6 Weeks...and Counting!
I can't believe Wyatt will be here in 6 weeks or less. I feel fine besides having lower back aches and pressure in my pelvic area. My ribs hurt all the time! I can't complain though, we have been so blessed throughout with no problems. This pregnancy has gone by way to quickly than I imagined. Nothing much has been going on lately, just trying to get prepared for Wyatt's arrival and get Christmas shopping done. I think being pregnant around the holiday's has made things go by so fast. I have no time to even think about it. I still feel like I have so much to do. I go back to the doctor next Tuesday and then I will start going once a week from there. I am hoping that we can both hang in there until around the 15th of December for my mother to arrive. I guess we will have to see what happens in the next couple of weeks. I will be sure to post some pictures soon. Hope everyone has a great week and I will update everyone as we go.

It's been a while.....
It has been so long since I have posted anything and so much has been going on in the last few weeks. Ryan and I are both doing great. Wyatt is great, he moves around alot these days and seems to be very strong. We had a 4D done two times in the last 3 weeks and he is measuring in the 60th percentile in weight....I have a feeling that we will be expecting a 8-9 pound baby boy. If my mom could handle a 10 pound baby then I think I can...lets hope so!!! We are pretty much finished with the nursery just need to add a few small things here and there but for the most part we are completed. I have posted some pictures, I hope you enjoy. I go back to the doctor on November 4th for a two week check up. I have one more two week checkup and then it is down to once a week. Can't believe how fast time is flying and it makes me realize how quickly our little boy is going to grow. I want to cherish every single second with him that I can.
This weekend we went to the pumpkin patch. We had a great time! We didnt come home with a pumpkin but I was able to enjoy a funnel cake.....I love them and I dont get to eat them as often as I would like to. Check out my little pumpkin in the pictures. Hope you all have a great week!!!

Labor Day Weekend!
We spent the weekend doing stuff around the house and relaxing. Ryan started off Friday with a little bit of landscaping. He put done some rocks down around the flower beds and put some mulch down. It turned out great! Saturday we spent the day doing a little bit of shopping and then over to Meredith and Travis's for the Auburn football game. We had a great time and were very happy with the win. Auburn looked alot better than expected. Sunday we went over to Steve and Tina's for a cookout, it was great spending time with the family. Monday morning Ryan went fishing and then we spent the rest of the afternoon around the house. I have posted a few pictures from our weekend.
Baby Wyatt is moving around like crazy and I wish I could tell which body parts are kicking or punching at times. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks we will have an idea. This past Monday I had my 24 week appointment and everything went great. Doctor says we are right on target! Can't believe in just a couple more days we will only have 100 days left until we meet our little boy.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!!!!

Meet Wyatt Bradley Hays
This morning we got confirmation that our little on is indeed a little boy!!! We are so excited and can not wait for the day to meet our precious little boy. My appointment went great, his weight was 13oz. which is measuring two days ahead. The diagonstic screening of the organs came back great and other tests taken. He is definitely an active baby and I am sure within the next couple of weeks those movements will be a little harder than they are now. Right now it feels like little faint bubbles..or butterfly movements. Now, it is back to planning the nursery. I was a little hesitant at first but I feel more sure now. I have posted a couple of pictures of what they gave us. Ryan is also going to try to post a DVD we recieved today as well. My next appointment is August 31st, seems just around the corner. Thank you to everyone for the congrats and wishes. We are truly blessed with this baby boy and to have such wonderful friends and family.

Half Way There!!!
I am officially half way through my pregnancy...only 20 more weeks!!! So far everything has been great and it has been an amazing journey. I can not wait for the day to finally meet this little one growing each and every day in my belly. Speaking of belly...I have finally taken a picture of what just appeared this past Monday. I am also posting pictures of the nursery furniture that we had delivered last week. I know it is early but if you know me I am such a planner and have to have everything done. You may notice the blue lamp, I had to have it and decided that for some reason tomorrow they came back with a girl I could just paint over the blue with pink. Hope you enjoy the new pictures. Tomorrow we will get confirmation of the sex of our little one and I will post some pictures from the appointment. Can't wait!!!!

95% Sure it is a.......
BOY!!!! We are so thrilled and overwhelmed! Of course, we will have to get confirmation at my 20 week appointment which is the 4th of August but it is pretty clear from the ultrasound pics.
It was so amazing today, the baby has grown so much since my first ultrasound at 9 weeks. It was funny because he had his legs crossed for a while and then we thought we had a chance but it turned out he was rubbing his feet together. We also caught him sucking his thumb!!! He did happen to give us the hand or was telling us no, I wish we could have gotten a pic. The technicians were amazed of how active he was and that I have not felt anything as of now. Well, next week I am going to start shopping for nursery furniture and start getting ideas. I am dying to go out and buy something!!! In case any of you are wondering, we are leaning towards the name of Wyatt Bradley Hays, but I am sure Ryan and his friends will nickname him Dale Jr. What am I going to do???

Baby Hays Update!!!
Today I had my 16 week appointment and everything went great. My doctor had to chase around baby Hays to get a good reading of the heartbeat, it was 159. She said everything looks good and we are making progress. I was happy to hear that I lost a pound after they got onto me for gaining 7 pounds at my last appointment. I have been controlling myself lately!! Tomorrow Ryan and I have a seperate appointment to get an ultrasound and we are hoping to find out the sex of our baby. I have a feeling it is a boy, but we will see. I will be very happy and blessed with a boy or girl. I will keep you all posted tomorrow of what we find out......

13 Week Appointment!!!
Today I had my 13 week doctor's appointment and everything went great. The heart beat was good and it has dropped a little from last appointment. I did not get to see the little one but I am happy just to hear the heart beating. My next appointment is on July 8th.
Ryan and I went to Oklahoma City over the weekend to visit my family. My dad retired from the Air Force after 28 years of service. We had a great time visiting with family, sitting by the pool and getting much needed down time.

Baby Hays
As of May 18, 2009:
The baby’s heart rate was 178 and baby is measuring 2.53cm. The doctor said Baby Hays is right on target at 9 weeks and 1 day. I have been told since the heart rate is that high that we should be expecting a little girl….I guess we will see!!!
